BRIEF SUMMARY
Dyslexia is a condition in which a person with typical cognitive abilities struggles with reading and writing due to difficulty connecting letters to the sounds they make. 5-10% of Americans show some symptoms. Starting in 2019, SEA 217 requires that all students in grades K-2 are screened for dyslexia.
