Multilingual Proficiency
BRIEF SUMMARY
The Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency (also known as the Seal of Biliteracy) is a distinction made by an LEA on a student’s transcript that shows that the student has attained a high level of proficiency, sufficient for meaningful use in college and a career in one or more languages in addition to English. It also serves students as they enter the workforce as a confirmation of their linguistic skill set.
