  • (An Update From the Indiana Department of Education for January 27, 2023) ILEARN Practice Tests & Practice Test Scripts

Practice tests will open in the Test Delivery System for ILEARN 3-8 and the Biology and U.S. Government End-of-Course Assessments (ECAs) on Monday, January 30. Test Administrators (TAs) must administer the practice test to students prior to the operational assessment. Practice test scripts for Biology and U.S. Government ECAs are available in Appendix A of the ILEARN Biology Test Administrator’s Manual (TAM) and the ILEARN U.S. Government TAM, respectively. Practice test scripts for ILEARN 3-8 assessments are available as individual files on the Indiana Assessment Portal, separated by subject (MathematicsScienceSocial Studies, and English/Language Arts). Please contact the Indiana Assessment Help Desk with questions.

  • Q: Is anyone in charge of state testing in the middle school level? How do you keep organize with dates, and procedures?
  • Q: Has anyone seen anything about making up the Biology ILearn missed last spring? Are the students who took Biology last year exempt or do they need to make it up this year?
    • A: DOE said students enrolled in Bio last year and didn’t test due to cancellation are NOT required to make that test up. Requirement has been waived.
  • 2018-2019-Testing Window
  • Q: How are schools documenting (monitoring logs) when they check on ILEARN testing?

    • A: We did a google form so that we log each classroom with our name, date, who is the proctor, what is the test being given, then we check if the TA was actively monitoring, then we can fill in questions on whether there were any issues or not in each classroom. It is honestly a bit tedious. I would just do a spreadsheet!
    • A: We created a spreadsheet for our district based off of the items on the DOE’s onsite monitoring checklist for when they do their checks at schools. The STC’s go into every classroom at least once during each test session and fill out the classroom observation sheet. It does take up a decent amount of our time during the test sessions to make sure we are in every classroom and every room with small groups of students.
